Dr. Rheta E. Lanehart
I am a faculty researcher, educator, and data visualization analyst who works with ceramic sherds, bone collagen, bone apatite, and botanical material from Liangchengzhen, a Neolithic Longshan site (ca. 2600-1900 BCE) in Shandong, China. My research focuses on consumption patterns in archaeological foodways using organic residue analysis and stable isotope analysis. Through the use of diverse methods for lipid extraction and the systematic chemical analysis of material culture, I advance the fundamental scientific knowledge of the interactions between human societies and their socio-cultural organization.
